Responsibilities
This Opportunity:
Observing construction on a variety of Transportation, Civil and/or Municipal infrastructure projects to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications. Documenting the day-to-day field and inspection activities, material sampling and testing, and measuring of quantities. Prepare for and assist with preconstruction meetings, progress, and conflict resolution meetings, negotiate and prepare construction change orders. Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and other SEH personnel. May assist in development of proposals, estimating project budgets and schedules and completing constructability reviews
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- This position requires an MVR records check verifying that you possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record which meets the requirements of SEH’s Driving Program.
- High School Diploma or GED Previous experience in the construction field
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and be able to walk and climb over rough terrain associated with construction sites
- Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site observations, etc.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of applicable DOT Technical Certifications or ability to obtain within six (6) months
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Previous experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation
